The Company continuously adapts to the changing legislation in order to reduce the quantity of waste generated. This objective is incorporated in GAZ-SYSTEM’s Environmental Declaration.

The rules of conduct in this respect are set out in the "Waste Management Procedure" in force at the Company. Waste is collected e.g. in properly marked bins and then transferred to a specialist company in charge of waste processing, recycling and transport.

Waste is collected according to ‘waste transfer cards’ generated in the BDO (Product, Packaging and Waste Management Database) system. This issue is described in detail in the “Environmental Standard for the Introduction of Environmental Requirements into Technical Conditions, Descriptions of the Subject of the Contract, Projects and Contracts”.

In the course of the Company’s operation, both hazardous and non-hazardous waste is generated. The main sources of waste include construction, maintenance and dismantling of facilities and road infrastructure as well as activities related to the operation of facilities and infrastructure. Industrial waste includes mainly sorbents, wiping cloths, filter materials or protective clothing. Also waste resulting from the consumption of oils and lubricants used for the maintenance or repair of machinery and equipment should be classified as industrial waste. The only waste generated in the regasification process is sludge from the biological wastewater treatment plant. Owing to the acquisition of a specialised centrifuge, the quantity of sludge generated by the Company has been reduced by 99%.
