Due to the use of dedicated IT platforms and digitalisation of processes within the organisation, the workflow of documents, their review by stakeholders and the entire approval process is accomplished electronically. Not only does this increase the efficiency of the Company’s in-house operations, but also reduces the negative impact on the environment.
Construction works contractors operate in accordance with the internal GAZ-SYSTEM quality documents, so that the works are carried out with the utmost care and respect for the environment. Upon completion of the works, the construction sites are restored as close to their original status as possible. Project completion is based on the acceptance of the required documentation guaranteeing compliance with the requirements defined, inter alia, in administrative decisions. In order to avoid any future claims and non-conformities, no deviations are allowed.
During standard pipeline operation, their impact on the natural environment is kept to a minimum. The technologies and materials used ensure that the gas pipelines are leak-proof and airtight, which translates into safety for people and the environment. Failure-free operation of the gas pipelines does not pose a threat to surface and groundwater, including no change in its chemical status, and there is no negative impact on the landscape (due to pipeline installation underground). The above-ground elements and the controlled zones (in the form of a separate strip of land) are the exceptions. The operation of the gas pipelines also does not generate noise emissions, does not adversely affect the land and soil and does not obstruct the movements of animals.
