Cooperation with customers

Services provided by GAZ-SYSTEM are based on the regulations of state law, EU regulations and internal procedures. The Company ensures transparency of data concerning all services provided.

The Company’s website, under the „For Customers” tab, provides information on gas transmission, connection to the transmission network, capacity availability, publications concerning transmission capacity, quality parameters of gaseous fuel, as well as educational materials. The key tool for the exchange of information between customers and GAZ-SYSTEM is the Information Exchange System enabling access to data related to the performance of concluded transmission and connection agreements and the services provided.

GAZ-SYSTEM communicates with its customers through market consultations and surveys concerning the transmission network expansion plan or increasing the capacity of interconnection points. The Company maintains an active dialogue with its customers also by organising market consultations on amendments to existing regulations and cooperation rules, as well as conferences, workshops, training sessions and one-on-one meetings. In 2023, the Company held another series of „GAZ‑SYSTEM for customers – practical webinars”. The meetings addressed the principles of using the services, as well as issues related to their implementation. Overall, seven webinars were attended by 458 people.

An alternative method of communicating with customers is the organisation of the periodic event – „GAZ-SYSTEM Forum”. The last edition of the forum held in September 2023 addressed the market situation in the gas industry, changes in the regulatory environment, conditions and principles of cooperation, as well as perspectives and challenges related to the energy transition of Poland and in the Central and Eastern Europe. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Energy Regulatory Office, ENTSOG, the Polish Power Exchange, the Exchange Clearing House and transmission system operators from Ukraine, Denmark, Latvia, as well as Lithuania, Slovakia, and Germany.

With the customers in mind, GAZ-SYSTEM posted an electronic customer calendar on the Company website (here) which includes all relevant dates and events concerning the cooperation with GAZ-SYSTEM, such as:

  • forthcoming auctions of monthly, quarterly, and annual products for firm and interruptible capacity,
  • deadlines related to the functioning of balance groups,
  • deadlines for the submission of reports and settlement reports,
  • scheduled webinars, workshops, etc.

In order to obtain customer feedback and determine the level of their satisfaction with the cooperation with GAZ-SYSTEM, the Company regularly conducts customer satisfaction surveys. For 14 years now, the satisfaction index has scored above 4.15 on a scale from 1 to 5. In 2023 the score was 4.52. The satisfaction index is the arithmetic mean of customer service quality ratings, assessment of attitude and competence of employees, and the quality of services provided by GAZ-SYSTEM.

The majority of respondents highly regard the customer service and quality of services provided by GAZ-SYSTEM. In terms of attitude of the employees, particularly appreciated were friendliness, personal culture, reliability of the information provided, accessibility and speed of service. As a transmission system operator, GAZ-SYSTEM is particularly recognised for the transparency of procedures, security and confidentiality of business talks, and information campaigns addressed to the market on legal and regulatory changes.

GSA Platform

It is an independent, proprietary ICT tool of GAZ-SYSTEM for offering capacity in natural gas transmission systems. Under EU guidelines, transmission system operators are required to make interconnection capacity available at auctions. On GSA Platform  system users can purchase capacity selected from the following products:

  • Annual products – capacity made available for one year,
  • Quarterly products – capacity made available for one quarter,
  • Monthly products – capacity made available for one month,
  • Daily products – capacity made available for one day,
  • Intraday products – capacity made available from a given hour of the day until the end of that day.

Capacity booking solutions offered by GSA Platform are available to any Transmission System Operator interested in using tools tailored to its technical and market requirements. There are currently seven operators registered on the platform. Beside GAZ-SYSTEM and GAZ-SYSTEM ISO , the Czech NET4GAS and the Ukrainian Gas TSO of Ukraine offer their transmission capacity at auctions.

Klaipeda LNG Terminal Operator also provided its services on the GSA Platform (from April until the end of 2023), which enabled the resale of LNG regasification capacity within the secondary market to Terminal users. Similarly, GAZ-SYSTEM enabled the users of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to resell unused, allocated capacity directly via the GSA Platform.

Participation in the auctions is free of charge for operators and shippers and is based on open protocol and messages (AS4, edig@s 5.1) communication standards, thus ensuring ease of integration and system transparency. System stability, performance and security are ensured by means of 24/7 technical support and confirmed by international security and data protection standards: ISO/IEC 27001:2017, ISO 22301:2019.

GSA Platform provides System Users with the opportunity to participate in secondary market, i.e. to submit and accept bids within the secondary capacity trading market. In 2023, there were 13 secondary market transactions concluded through the GSA Platform.
