About GAZ-SYSTEM – Introduction

Gas Transmission System Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is 100% state owned enterprise of strategic importance for Poland's economy and energy security. Ownership supervision over GAZ-SYSTEM is exercised by the Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure.

As the only entity in the country, the Company is responsible for the transmission of gaseous fuel and the management of the high-pressure gas transmission pipeline network with a total length of over 12,000 km, including seven interconnectors. It actively participates in the development of an integrated transmission system in Europe and acts as the independent operator of the Polish section of the Yamal gas pipeline. It owns and operates the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline completed in 2022, and the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. In January 2023, GAZ-SYSTEM acquired 100 per cent of the shares in Tel-Ster, an IT services company which was the sole subsidiary of GAZ-SYSTEM as of 31 December 2023.

Gas transmission network

We ensure Poland’s energy security and increase the competitiveness of Polish economy through:

  • the development and management of gas transmission network and interconnections within the European gas transmission system,
  • reliable operation of terminals and other principal elements of gaseous fuel infrastructure,
  • implementation of projects contributing to Poland’s efficient and cost-effective energy transition.

GAZ-SYSTEM creates favourable conditions for successful development of Polish and regional economies based on low-carbon energy. We are an active participant in the energy transition process in Poland and Europe. We are a stabilising and effectively adaptable link in the Polish energy system.
